Home Remedies for Dry Skin
Dry skin has a thin and papery texture.
It feels dry to touch.
The pores are very fine.
After a wash it feels tight, as though it is too small for the face.
By midday flaky patches appear.
Hardly ever break out in spots.

Dry Skin Care:
For dry skin use a creamy cleanser to melt away dirt. Leave it on your skin before sweeping it away with cotton wool. Splash cold water onto your face to clean and refresh your skin. Use a thick cream moisturiser to seal in as much moisture as possible.

Home remedies for dry skin:
1. Make a puree of 1 banana and 1 papaya, peach or avacado. Apply to skin. Leave on for at least 20 minutes then rinse with warm water, followed by a moisturizer of natural margarine or natural vegetable oil.

2. Apply natural mayonnaise, either homemade or from natural foods store. Massage into skin, leave on for 15-20 minutes, rinse thoroughly with warm water.


Home Remedies for Oily Skin
Oily skin feels very greasy.
The texture is often very thick and coarse.
There are large, visible pores.
After a wash it feels fine.
By midday it looks shiny.

Oily Skin Care:
To care for oily skin you should start with a gentle, foaming facial wash. This will remove dirt and oil without stripping away moisture. Soak cotton wool in a gentle astringent lotion and sweep it over your skin to refresh and cool it. Even oily skin needs a moisturiser, but chose a light, watery fluid; this will be enough for your skin. Allow the moisturiser to sink in and then absorb the excess with a tissue to prevent shine.

Home remedies for oily skin:
1. Make a puree of fresh tomatoes, apply to the skin.

2. Beat together 1 egg white, 1 tsp spirits of camphor, 1 heaping Tbsp skim milk powder and a scant drop of essential oil of mint. First apply a thin film of odorless castor oil to the skin , then apply a thick layer of the egg white mask. Lie back for about 15 minutes. Wash off with warm water, then rinse with an apple cider vinegar and water solution or witch hazel.


Home Remedies for Wrinkles and lines on face
1. Apply the leftover eggwhites in the bottom of the shell to the lines under your eyes.

2. Apply odorless castor oil to the crepe-like skin under the eyes or on the throat.

3. Prick 3 capsules of vitamin E and drain into small bowl. Add 2 tsps plain yogurt, 1/2 tsp honey and 1/2 tsp. lemon juice. Apply to face with cotton ball. Leave on skin for about 10 minutes. Rinse.

4. ¼ cup comfrey infusion, ¼ cup witch hazel, 10 drops patchouli essential oil, Mix well. Store in a clean bottle. Apply to effected areas with a cotton ball.

Coconut oil Wrinkle Treatment:
Apply coconut oil on the portions of skin and face where wrinkles set in and gently massage every night at bedtime.

Dandruff Home Remedies - Curing dandruff at home
Here are some useful and effective home remedies for dandruff. We will love to hear whether they worked for you or not.

To clear up dandruff you need to counter the cause of the dandruff: your scalp's acidic pH level. You should restore your scalp's natural alkaline pH level.

1. Add six spoonfuls water, two spoonfuls pure vinegar and apply it on the scalp with cotton wool before going to bed. Tie a towel around your head to protect the pillow. Wash your hair next morning. After shampooing, rinse again with vinegar water. Continue this once a week for at least three months.

2. Mix a spoonful of lemon juice with two spoonfuls of vinegar and massage on the scalp. Wash your hair with an egg shampoo after this.

3. Soak fenugreek (methi) seeds in yogurt overnight and apply the curd on your scalp for half an hour before washing in the morning.

4. Hair washed with fenugreek (methi) seed paste prevents dandruff, falling hair, baldness and dandruff keeping the hair long, healthy and black. Just soak the fenugreek seeds overnight in water to soften the seeds and grind in the morning to make paste. Before hair wash, apply this paste on scalp and hair and leave it on for half an hour. Wash off with shampoo later.

5. Natural Anti-Dandruff Massage:
(i) Massage your scalp with warm coconut or castor oil twice a week.
(ii) Massage with the tips of your fingers in a circular movement for at least half an hour.
(iii) Leave it on overnight and shampoo the following morning.
(iv) This prevents the hair from becoming dry and moreover prevents dandruff and falling hair by improving the circulation and strengthening the hair roots.

Homemade Anti-Dandruff Preparations/Recipes:

Homemade Anti-Dandruff Sesame Preparation 1 for dandruff:
Sesame Oil 500 ml
Bhangra Leaves 100 gm
Boil bhangra leaves in sesame oil for 15 minutes. Let it stand for an hour then strain it. Massage this oil in your head. Leave it for an hour then shampoo your hair.

Anti-Dandruff Sesame Preparation 2 for dandruff:
Sesame Oil 1 tbsp
Bhailavan 3 tbsp

Blend the two together and apply it on the head. Leave it on for 2-3 hours and wash it off with a shampoo in lukewarm water.

Anti-Dandruff Rosemary Preparation for dandruff:
Rosemary Leaves 1 handful
Water 1 litre
Vinegar 2 tsp

Boil the water and soak rosemary leaves in it. Let it stand for one night. Strain and add vinegar to it. After shampooing wash your hair with this preparation. It treats the hair very fast.

Hair loss may be caused due to a variety of reasons, for example, tension, malnutrition, illness etc. Split ends, if not treated travel up to the root giving the hair an uneven length. Here are some simple home remedies to combat hair loss and split ends:

Drink lots of water. Drinking water will prevent most of your skin problems. For a simple calculation divide your body weight in half and drink at the least that many ounces of water a day. 1. Put toothpaste on your pimple before you go to bed, should help reduce swelling overnight. Make sure it is the paste not the gel. One of the most popular acne home remedies.

2. Extract juice of one lemon and mix with equal quantity of rose water. Apply this mixture on the face and let it stay for about half an hour. Wash the face with fresh water. About 15 days application helps cure acne, pimples and reduces blemishes and scars.

3. Wash your face twice a day in warm salty water. This should leave your face oil free without aggravating the acne.

4. Place strawberry leaves on the acne, the alkalinity helps to reduce the swelling.

5. Apply a paste of fresh methi (fenugreek) leaves over the face every night for 10-15 minutes and washed with warm water. This will prevent acne, pimples, blackheads, and wrinkles.

Home face wash for acne: Mix together 1 or 2mls each of the following: witch hazel, tea-tree and sweet fennel essential oils, adding essential oil of geranium for women and essential oil of rosewood for men. 9. Apply fresh mint juice over the face every night for the treatment of acne, pimples, insect stings, eczema, scabies, & other skin infections.

21. Blend cucumber and make a paste. Apply this as a mask on your face and leave it for 1/2 hour and then rinse. This refreshes your skin and prevents acne.

22. Grind some nutmeg with milk and apply on affected area. Pimples disappear like magic without leaving a mark.

23. Make a mixture of lime juice and rose water. Apply on face and leave it for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

24. Mix 1 tsps groundnut oil with 1 tspn fresh lime juice to prevent formation of blackheads and pimples.

25. Ground drumstick pods and leaves and mix mixed with fresh lime juice, and apply on pimples. This is also good for blackheads and dark spots.

26. Mix groundnut oil with an equal amount of fresh lime juice and apply on face. leave for 10-15 minutes and wash. It may be applied daily to prevent formation of blackheads,acne and pimples.

27. Apply fresh lime juice mixed to a glass of boiled milk as a face wash for acne, pimples, blackheads, and cracked skin.

28. Apply juice of raw papaya (including the skin and seed) on swelling acne, pimples.

29. Large pores on facial skin can be treated with paste of sandalwood powder with masoor dal.

30. Make a paste of ground radish seeds with water and apply on face to remove blackheads.

31. A solution made out of one and a half cups of hot water and half a tablespoon of boric powder is an ideal remedy for blackheads, Saturate a face napkin in this hot solution and press on to the skin, repeat twice. Extract blackheads carefully with a blackhead remover and sterilized cottonwool. Pat on an astrigent.

32. Use an oatmeal or almond mask throughly to cleanse your face. Mix either oatmeal or almond powder with enough rose water to make a soft paste that spreads easily on the skin. Rub it on your skin with your fingertips, paying special attention the problem areas. Leave to dry for about 15 minutes and then rinse off with cold water. This is very good in getting rid of blackheads.

33. Honey is a great remedy for skin blemishes and acne because the honey kills bacteria.

34. Mix mint juice with turmeric powder and apply on affected area. Leave for 15-30 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water.

Home Remedies for Sunburn
Sunburn is skin burned by exposure to the sun or other ultraviolet light.
Mix 2 teaspoon tomato juice and 4 tablespoon buttermilk and apply on the face. Leave for 1/2 hour, and wash off.
Mix olive oil with equal quantity of vinegar and apply an hour before your bath.
Make a paste of Barley, turmeric and yogurt in equal proportions. Apply it over the area of sunburns.
A thin paste of sandalwood applied to the sunburn area is beneficial.
Good old plain aloe vera will help the healing and have cooling sensation.

Tips on Sunburn:
1.Sunburn is better prevented than treated.Effective sunscreens are available in a wide variety of strengths. Most doctors recommend a sunscreen SPF level of 30 or greater.

2.Try taking a cool shower or bath or placing wet, cold wash rags on the burn.
